It's OURS!!!

Had to share the big news - it's all ours! We're super excited and now the packing and finishing madness will start...boy oh boy!

Yesterday was our home inspection at the new place and all is well. There are a few minor issues here and there and some slightly bigger issues (we'll probably have to replace the deck sooner rather than later) but overall there were no structural issues and the home is sound. Our conditions were lifted today and next step is getting the keys in another month or so.

Had a nice dinner out this evening with my project team from work. It was really nice to all get together before some go their separate ways. It's hard to believe I only have one more week off before going back to work. Crazy! I'll have to pack in a lot of good times with my baby girl next week.

The Scoop

Alright...had to make some time to give an update on life this month. It's been a busy time. Scott and I found a property we love...the house is just beautiful and the yard is the right size and layout. It has a major drawback (backs on to a busy corner) but we thought about it and weighed the pros and cons and decided that this home is for us.

It's a beautiful 2 story home, with loads of charm and character. There are a number of mature trees and a great sized yard where we'll be able to hang out. I'll attach a couple sneak peek pics!

Now, we still need to have the conditions removed before we can really say "it's OURS"...but we're getting there. We're both pretty excited about this home and have already started visualizing furniture placement, improvements we want to make over the years, and I'm already dreaming of the beautiful holidays we'll spend in our new space. It's got a lovely brick fireplace that will certainly make our Christmas gatherings warm and inviting! :)

So for any of my blog readers (I think there are a few of you out there!??) - I will try to update more regularly once this whole house deal is sealed. :)

Blogging Break

I'm taking a bit of a break from blogging this month. I've been working on getting things organized and trying to get all the material ready that we need for finishing our kitching and redoing our bathroom. I've got lots of pictures I need to upload and share, but I think I'll save it for another week where I have more time and feel like it a bit more.

Today is 10 years since the death of my little brother. I can't believe it has already been 10 years. Unbelieveable. I wonder where he would be...what he would be doing as a career. So many "what ifs". We'll be visiting the gravesite today...and of course, we'll remember Marcos as he was - an energetic, enthusiastic, good-looking 16 year old. My little brother and friend...Marc, I miss you still.
