Time Marches On

Hello all,
I would like to say I'm going to be more consistently blogging in the upcoming weeks and months, but I kind of have a feeling that going back to work will throw a monkey wrench into my blogging schedule (I mean look how bad it is while I'm at home with the kidlets!) So, I will just try to pop in here and keep up as frequently as possible.

We returned from a lovely 10-day vacation in California and I have loads of pictures to share. However, I still have to transfer them to the computer, so it may take a couple days to get that done. Christmas came and went, we had our trip, it's a new year, and my baby boy is now one year old. Sniff. He's growing up so fast! He started walking right around Christmas time. I love watching him wander around the house (he looks like a little frankenstein with his arms stretched out all the time for balance). Cute, cute cute.

In other news, look at where we're at with the van:
Eeeek!! Let's hope this baby lasts me a while yet. I need to save up for a new vehicle! ;)

We're having a our family over tomorrow for a Birthday lunch for my boy. I've got carrot cakes baking in the oven right now. I should be vacuuming right now but instead I thought I'd get a quick post in before I get busy again. You many wonder how I have time to bake cakes, clean the house, and blog? Well my kiddos started the dayhome this week. They are there every morning and then I pick them up at noon. It's definitely given me a bit of time to work on things while they're at the dayhome. BUT, I must tell you that it's been quite challenging with Ethan. He is NOT happy about this whole being separated from mommy thing. The first morning he cried all morning. Inconsolable. Now he at least will let Tanya hold him and comfort him. So that's good....except for the fact that she can't put him down. Ever. He cries and cries and screams. So it's pretty difficult for her to interact with the other children. Sigh. And she's got a full house, let me tell you. Ahhh. I just hope that it improves quickly. It's not looking good.

Ethan is so different than Annika, it just boggles my mind! Annika is an independent little girl, and has been from the get-go. I remember dropping her off at Tina's and she didn't even shoot me a second glance. The tears with Annika came when I had to pick her up and take her home!! Now Ethan...my precious boy starts to wail as soon as we walk in the door! Different little personalities at work. Amazing.

Ok, I'm off to get some cleaning done and put Ethan's cupcake in the oven (my version of a smash cake, lol).

Have a fabulous weekend all!
Penny
