Salsa'd Out

Today was our first Salsa Babies class. Boy oh boy, I'm tired! It's been a really long time since I've done any type of workout routine, and it felt really good to do some serious exercise. This was week one of a ten week program that a couple of friends and I signed up for with our babies.

It was neat to see a room full of mamas exercising with their precious bundles. The babies ages ranged from as young as 5 weeks old to around 11 months. Annika and her two friends, Jayla and Jovan, were right in the middle of the pack at almost six months. By the end of the workout, Annika and Jayla were both slouched over in their wraps, having a good sleep! Quite a few babies were sleeping at some point in the workout - I guess all that bouncing and rhythm put them to sleep!

I'm hoping this class will be the start of a positive change for me - a big step towards a healthier lifestyle. I also got a couple workout DVD's delivered today and may start trying those out this week.

Healthy eating habits are hugely important in the quest for healthful living, and I've been trying to use a lot more vegetables in our meal planning. Our fridge is stocked with lots of veggies and I'm trying to be a bit more creative in my cooking. I'm actually really enjoying it and using Allrecipes a lot...it's my favourite online recipe source. So far I've tried out an awesome recipe for pork souvlaki (so easy), greek potatoes, sesame green beans, and a layered spaghetti squash dish that we'll be having for leftovers today! Yummy!

Hope you're all having a happy, healthy week!

Another great place to check out for easy and quick meals is Kraft canada.com. I've made some pretty delish meals, too, that my husband just can't get enough of!

Thanks for the tip, Alison! I'll check it out...

And Sandy, it's all your fault!! LOL! I confess that instead of eating leftovers last night, we went out with Sandy and Jamie and had some delicious ribs at Montana's!! Yum!! I had veggies with mine...does that count for something?
